The Besta NeuroSim Center participated in the AO Neuro Course - Neurotrauma, held Dec. 11-13, 2017, in Davos, Switzerland. The course, focused on neurotrauma, offered numerous activities to teach neurosurgeons and residents the best current strategies for managing neurotrauma patients.
During the course, the Besta NeuroSim Center team conducted a simulation session, allowing participants to practice various neurosurgical skills related to trauma surgery. These included placing an external ventricular shunt, draining a hematoma and coagulating a hemorrhage. Participants also performed tests of reasoning and spatial orientation.
The goal of the session was to collect new data to be integrated into our research projects on the importance and validity of simulators for neurosurgeon training. The session was a success, appreciated by all participants and members of the organization, who contributed enthusiastically to the educational research project.
We are grateful and honored for this partnership with Global Neuro and look forward to participating in their upcoming initiatives and projects.
