In 2020, the Besta NeuroSim Center (BNSC) received significant recognition from the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances program. This initiative involves the participation of the ten leading neurosurgery centers in Europe under the project AENEID (Academy for European Neurosurgical Excellence through Innovation and Diversity). The aim is to establish a new paradigm in the training pathway of young European neurosurgeons. By integrating high-level technical training utilizing simulation and cadaveric dissection—with the addition of teaching soft skills such as communication, active listening, and empathy—neurosurgery residents across Europe will receive improved and standardized training.
