At the Besta NeuroSim Center (BNSC), 3D anatomical visualizers and surgical planners are used to improve communication between doctors and patients when discussing operative risks during the preoperative informed consent process. We have demonstrated that this approach significantly enhances patients' understanding of the rationale behind a surgical intervention, the expected benefits, and the possible risks—without increasing their anxiety (SPLICE Study).
